I Guess I'm Making a Blog Again?
How long does a website have to sit gathering digital dust before I admit it's dead?
I used to have a blog, a real one where I actually had an output for the thoughts in my head other than a dozen crappy unfinished projects. In fact, one of those posts (written on a whim, if I'm being honest) contributed to me getting my job at LM. It turns out that putting my thoughts out in the open, even the unpolished ones, occasionally pays off in ways I don't expect.
Then life must have happened. I got busy, the day job took over, the server needed an update I didn't feel like debugging, and I promised myself I'd write next weekend. Suddenly it had been years, and the automated domain renewal notice was the only email I got about the site. I stopped being a writer and started being a server administrator for a ghost town.
But lately, my brain has been a bit too crowded. I'm starting up a few personal projects again, and when I have that many ideas and thoughts bouncing around in my head, I need a home base. A place to put things that isn't just a notepad file on a desktop I'll inevitably delete during a cleanup.
So here I am. It's a place to talk about what I'm building, the code, the mistakes (and there will be a LOT of those), and whatever else is occupying my mind.
Let's see if this one sticks.
