A bald-faced hornet beat the hell out of a red-footed cannibalfly on my driveway.

So I found a bald-faced hornet and a cannibal fly (actually named a robberfly) locked together on my driveway and I filmed it. No idea who was going to win.

Apparently the cannibal fly usually wins if it can get the fight up into the air but the hornet's size and mandibles take over once it's on the ground. This one never left the pavement.

Got some close-ups after too.

No idea what started it.
